At night cinephiles awaken, museums open doors that ordinarily stay shut and the moon sheds a different light on art and culture.
Amsterdam´s museumnight and Cineville allow you to rediscover the city. In preparation of the 10th annual museumnight on the 7th of November, n8 and Cineville join hands and organize the nachtshots 1 minute nocturnal video competition. Show us your 1 minute portrayal of night and culture: capture the most exciting, surprising element of the night in 60 seconds of moving image.
Join our competition! The best video’s will be shown during 3 weeks in October in Cineville movietheaters and in several museums during the museumnight on 7 November. The deadline is 4 November but if you enter your film before the 10th of October it might be included in the trailer.

Audience prize: The Cinevillepass and the Museumcard which grant you a yearlong free entrance to museums and art houses in Amsterdam.
Jury prize: a Flip Mino HD Camera.
Winners have the chance to be nominated for The One Minutes Awards in Shanghai.

Join our nachtshots kickoff on the 29th of September at 20:30 in Studio/K and get inspired by the best video’s of theoneminutes.org and artfilms from the collection of the Stedelijk Museum.

Conditions & additional information
You’re free to make your nachtshots how you want, but there are a few conditions. Theme of the video should be the discovery of culture by night, in an exciting and surprising way.
To enter the competition, create a YouTube account. Upload your video on YouTube in the highest quality possible, name it and add the video on this website. Maximum length of the submitted videos is 60 seconds. Maximum amount of entries is 3 movies. Cineville, the n8 and The One Minutes select together the best video’s that will be shown in different compilations of 5 nachtshots in several Cineville theaters in October. For these screenings we might ask for the source material.
The prize ceremony will take place on the 13th of November. Time and location still to be announced.

Attend the oneminuteworkshop
On the 3rd of October The Bouwkeet on Tour (by Stedelijk in de Stad) will give a video workshop how to make a one minute film.
It is possible to enroll during the Kickoff on the 29th of September.

Copyright terms
- The maker declares that he/she has the copyright of the work and should be regarded as the sole maker;
- The maker allows n8 and Cineville to use his/her one minute movie for non-commercial activities organized or promoted by n8 and Cineville.
- Activities consist of: presentation of the work in an exhibition, a lecture, in a TV broadcast, during an Award event, in a catalogue on video or DVD, accompanying printed materials and on the websites of n8, Cineville and the project partners
- n8, Cineville and its official partners could also allow third parties to use the films for similar activities in consultation with the maker.
- In case these third parties pay revenues of broadcast or any other fee for authorship rights, these revenues will be given to the maker.
- The maker could withdraw his/her permission to use the work at all times, provided that The One Minutes foundation and its official partners or third parties to whom The One Minutes foundation granted permission, cannot be asked to change activities which have been already realized, or are in a late preparatory state of organization;
- The One Minutes foundation cannot use the work in any other way than as described above, unless with the explicit permission of the maker.
The filmmaker agrees to indemnify and hold harmless The One Minutes foundation, its officers, directors, employees, agents, distributors and its affiliates from and against any and all claims made by employees of the productions and any and all third-party claims arising from or in any way related to any copyrights, thereby expressly including the music rights. All costs arising out of or as a result of copyright claims by third parties are for the maker.
